Shan Masood was born on 14 October 1989 in Kuwait City, Kuwait. His father worked in a bank. During the Gulf War, his family moved to Pakistan and settled down in Karachi. He completed primary schooling at Stamford School, Lincolnshire, and after that, he enrolled at Durham University, where he studied economics. He attended Loughborough University through a distance learning program to study Management and Sports Sciences.
Since childhood, he has been inclined toward playing cricket. And he was playing best perform for his team. In 2007, he started his career as a cricketer for Karachi Whites, And he also played three first-class games for Durham University.
Shan Masood's named in Pakistan's Test International squad for their series against South Africa in October 2013, And he debuted in Pakistan's Test International squad on 14 October 2013 in a series against South Africa, in the series, he scored 75. And, on 22 March 2019, he made his Pakistan's ODI squad debut against Australia. On 20 September 2022, he made his Twenty20 International (T20I) debut for Pakistan against England.
