What is the GATE exam syllabus & pattern

GATE Exam (2021-2022)


IIT Delhi is conducting the GATE 2021 exam, the institute will release the detailed exam pattern of the test. According to 2020, the GATE exam has 25 paper sets including the newly added paper on Biomedical Engineering is available in the GATE portal.


The Candidates made a new addition to the GATE exam 2020 in the form of Biomedical Engineering apart from the 24 existing papers.



GATE Exam Pattern


GATE exam has a total of 25 papers set for the exam which is released by IIT's according to the exam conducted center every year. The candidates can read more details related to the exam at the official website for the GATE exam. Before appearing in the examination, candidates must be well aware of the syllabus and GATE exam pattern.

  • Subjective Paper: 70%

For AR, CY, EY, XL, GG, MA, and PH

  • Subjective Paper: 85%
  • Total Marks: 100


GATE exam is mostly scheduled to be held in February in online mode. Right now, Biomedical Engineering is added as a new paper in the GATE exam.
