Andy Lau was born on 27 September 1961 in Tai Po, British Hong Kong. His father "Lau Lai" was a firefighter, he was the fourth child in his family. He graduated from a Band One secondary school, Ho Lap College in San Po Kong, Kowloon.

Andy Lau started his acting career in 1981 with the television series "Till' We Meet Again" in the role of Lung. And since then he is active and did many projects.
