The <time> tag allows to represent a machine-readable date and/or time within an HTML document.

Important Description

• The <time> tag is new in HTML5.
• The <time> tag defines a human-readable date/time.
• Open and close tag required of <time>.

Example of <time> tag

<p>The shop will open at <time>11:00</time> every morning.</p> <p>The seminar starts at <time datetime="2018-07-07T20:00:00">20:00</time>.</p>

Result Look Like

The shop will open at 11:00 every morning.

The seminar starts at 20:00.

<time> Tag Browser Support

The <time> tag is not supported in Internet Explorer 8 and earlier versions.

• The <time> tag supports all the Global Attributes in HTML.

Event Attributes

• The <time> tag supports all the Event Attributes in HTML.
