Eddie Griffin is an American stand-up comedian and actor who was born with the name of Edward Rubin Griffin on 15 July 1968 in Kansas City, Missouri.
Eddie Griffin is best known for portraying Eddie Sherman in the sitcom Malcolm & Eddie, the title character in the 2002 comedy film Undercover Brother.

In 1989, Griffin took a chance at a comedy club's open-mic night as part of a bet and received a standing ovation by sharing entertaining family anecdotes. This propelled him to secure stand-up opportunities both locally and in Los Angeles.
One of his well-received acts was a comedic take on the tough-guy comic Andrew Dice Clay from a gay perspective. Eventually, Griffin was hired by Clay to be his opening act. Griffin was ranked at number 62 on Comedy Central's list of the 100 Greatest Stand-ups of All Time.
