Vaishnavi Aravind is the granddaughter of famous film actress Sowcar Janaki. Her mother Yagnna Prabha is the elder daughter of Sowcar Janaki.
In 1996, Vaishnavi Aravind married cinematographer Aravind Kamalanathan who worked in her debut film, after which she stopped acting. She has two daughters, Aditi and Meghna.
