Suryakumar Yadav was born on 14 September 1990 in Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh, India. He attended Pillai College of Arts, Commerce, and Science, where he completed his education.
Since childhood, he has been inclined toward playing cricket. In 2009, he started his career for Parsi Gymkhana Cricket Club in Mumbai. Currently, Surya played for Mumbai Indians in the IPL since 2018.
Suryakumar Yadav's named in India's Twenty20 International (T20I) squad against England in February 2021, although he did not play. He made his T20I debut in the Indian cricket team on 14 March 2021 against England. After that, on 18 March got his first opportunity to bat, and hit the first ball six and he became the first Indian to do so T20 International player. After that, on 18 July 2021, he debuted in India's One Day International (ODI) match against Sri Lanka. Finally, he was also selected by the Indian Cricket Board, And on 9 February 2023, he made his Test debut for India against Australia.
