Saumya was born and raised in Uttar Pradesh and grew up in Delhi, although she never revealed her birthplace and birth date. Saumya's father is a government servant, she grew up in a family where most of the members were either in the medical field or engineering field. In childhood, due to her father's job, she lived in several small towns and villages in the country gifted her a deep understanding of various societies and cultures. She completed her master's degree in Industrial and Consumer Psychology from "The University of Manchester" in 2008-09.
