SSC Stenographer Syllabus


SSC Stenographer syllabus has been released by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC). The SSC Stenographer exam is conducted for Grade-C and Grade-D posts. It is a highly competitive exam in the SSC exam. 


The stenographer job post is one of the most demanding jobs in India including the job offers security, stability, and ample opportunities to learn and improve career.

For the skill test, given one dictation for 10 minutes in English / Hindi at the speed of 100 WPM for the post of Stenographer Grade ā€˜C’ and 80 WPM for the post of Stenographer Grade ā€˜D’. The matter will have to be transcribed on computing.

Important Points


  • Reasoning Ability and Numerical Ability comprises 50 marks each.
  • The English language comprises 100 marks.
  • The Computer Based Test will contain MCQs of 2 hours time duration.
  • 0.25 marks will be deducted for every wrong answer as negative marking.

For the stenographer skill test, the expected speed is 100 words per minute for Stenographer Grade C posts and 80 words per minute for Grade D posts.
